Common Aluminium Grades for Production
Aluminium 6061
Al–Mg–Si
6061 aluminum is one of the most versatile alloys used in extrusion ＆ CNC machining. It offers an excellent balance of strength, machinability, and corrosion resistance. 6061 is ideal for structural components, brackets, and housings that require both precision and moderate strength
Aluminium 6063
Al–Mg–Si
6063 aluminum is known for its superior surface quality and excellent extrudability. It is softer and more ductile than 6061, making it a preferred material for aluminum extrusion profiles with complex cross-sections and decorative applications.
Aluminium 6082
Al–Mg–Si
6082 aluminum is a high-strength alloy commonly used in Europe as an alternative to 6061. It offers better mechanical strength and improved resistance to stress corrosion cracking, while maintaining good machinability. In CNC machining, 6082 is favored for precision mechanical parts and load-bearing structures.
Aluminium 6005
Al–Mg–Si
6005 aluminum is a medium-strength alloy with excellent extrusion performance and good structural stability. It is widely used for aluminum extrusion profiles in industrial frames, support structures, and mechanical components where higher strength than 6063 is required, while maintaining good machinability and cost efficiency.
